ICICI Bank Interview Questions & Answers

Q: Tell me about yourself and about your family.

A: Keep it to about 90 seconds: your education, one or two things you've actually done that map to banking, and why you're here. The family part is small talk, so answer briefly and steer back to your work.

Answer by AI
  • Open with your current status: degree, specialisation and any internship or work that touched finance, sales or data.
  • Pick one concrete example that shows ownership, then say what it taught you about working with customers or numbers.
  • Close with why banking and why this role, and answer the family question in one line without turning it into the main story.

Q: About KYC.

A: Explain KYC as the process a bank uses to verify who a customer is before and during a relationship, covering identity proof, address proof and ongoing monitoring. Tie it to why the bank cares: fraud, money laundering and regulatory obligations.

Answer by AI
  • Define it plainly: Know Your Customer, the checks that establish a customer's identity and address before an account goes live.
  • Mention the pieces you know: officially valid documents, customer due diligence, periodic re-KYC and enhanced checks for higher risk profiles.
  • Finish with the purpose, which is preventing fraud and money laundering and staying compliant with the regulator.

Q: How to sell a product?

A: Walk through a simple structure: understand the customer's need, match one product to that need, explain the benefit in their terms, handle the objection, then ask for the close. Interviewers want a repeatable method, not a script.

Answer by AI
  • Start with discovery questions so the pitch is based on what the customer actually needs, not on what you want to sell.
  • Present one product and translate features into outcomes for that customer, including cost and any conditions.
  • Deal with objections honestly, then ask a clear closing question and set the next step.

Q: Tell me about your previous experience.

A: Pick the two roles or projects closest to this job and describe them as situation, what you did, and the result. Use numbers where you have them, and skip anything that doesn't support your case.

Answer by AI
  • Choose two experiences that map to banking work: customer handling, targets, risk, operations or analytics.
  • For each one, say the context, your specific contribution and a measurable outcome.
  • End by linking those skills to what this role needs day to day.
