Google LLC is an American technology company founded on September 4, 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, headquartered at the Googleplex in Mountain View, California. It works across internet search, online advertising, cloud computing, consumer and enterprise software, hardware and artificial intelligence, with products including Search, Google Workspace, Android, YouTube, Google Cloud and the Gemini family of AI models. Since the 2015 restructuring it operates as a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., which trades on Nasdaq under GOOGL and GOOG.
Financial reporting happens at the Alphabet level. Alphabet posted revenue of $402.84 billion for FY2025 and net income of $132.17 billion, and its market capitalisation stood at about $4.17 trillion on July 22, 2026. Growth has been driven by AI. Q2 2026 revenue rose 24% year over year, Google Cloud revenue jumped 82% with a backlog of $514 billion, and the Gemini app reached 950 million monthly active users. Headcount was 198,933 as of June 2026.
India is one of Google's biggest markets and engineering bases. Google India Private Limited, incorporated in Bengaluru on December 16, 2003, reported FY2025 revenue of Rs 6,115.9 Cr and about 3,268 employees as of March 2024, though several other Google entities also operate in the country. Hiring runs across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Gurugram and Mumbai, covering engineering, cloud, sales, marketing and support. In October 2025 Google committed roughly $15 billion over five years to build its first India AI hub at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, with AdaniConnex and Airtel as infrastructure partners.
