Accenture Interview Questions & Answers

Q: Tell me about yourself and explain your final-year project.

A: Give a crisp 60-90 second summary of your background, then walk through your project's problem, your role, the tech stack, and the outcome.

Answer by AI
  • Open with a one-line intro (degree, focus area, key strengths), then pivot to your project.
  • For the project, state the problem it solved, the technologies you used, and specifically what YOU built.
  • Close with the result or what you learned - quantify impact if you can.

Q: What is the difference between Java and Python?

A: Java is statically typed and compiled to bytecode with verbose syntax; Python is dynamically typed and interpreted with concise syntax - Java tends to be faster, Python faster to write.

Answer by AI
  • Java is statically typed (types checked at compile time); Python is dynamically typed (checked at runtime).
  • Java compiles to bytecode run on the JVM; Python is interpreted, making it more concise but generally slower.
  • Java enforces more boilerplate (classes, types) while Python favours readability and rapid development.

Q: Explain the OOP concepts / pillars of object-oriented programming.

A: The four pillars are Encapsulation, Abstraction, Inheritance and Polymorphism.

Answer by AI
  • Encapsulation bundles data and methods together and hides internal state behind access modifiers.
  • Abstraction exposes only essential features; Inheritance lets a class reuse and extend another.
  • Polymorphism lets one interface take many forms via overriding (runtime) and overloading (compile time).

Q: How do you remove duplicate elements from a list in Java?

A: Convert the list to a Set (e.g. LinkedHashSet to preserve order), or use Stream.distinct().

Answer by AI
  • Passing the list to a new HashSet removes duplicates but loses order; LinkedHashSet keeps insertion order.
  • With streams: list.stream().distinct().collect(Collectors.toList()).
  • For custom objects, ensure equals() and hashCode() are correctly overridden so duplicates are detected.
