IDFC FIRST Bank Limited is an Indian private-sector universal bank headquartered at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai, with its registered office in Chennai. It was incorporated on 21 October 2014 and began banking operations in October 2015 as a subsidiary of infrastructure lender IDFC Limited. The bank took its present shape in December 2018 when IDFC Bank merged with retail lender Capital First, and the structure was simplified again on 1 October 2024 when IDFC Limited itself merged into the bank in a reverse merger. Shares trade on the NSE as IDFCFIRSTB and on the BSE under code 539437.
The bank runs a full-service model covering retail, MSME, rural, startup, corporate and government banking, along with cash and wealth management, credit cards, working capital, trade finance and treasury. As of 31 March 2026 it served 38 million customers through 1,147 branches reaching more than 60,000 cities, towns and villages. Customer deposits stood at Rs 2,84,453 crore and loans and advances at Rs 2,90,278 crore, with a CASA ratio of 49.80% and capital adequacy of 15.60%. Credit cards in force crossed 4.5 million during the March 2026 quarter.
Consolidated revenue for FY26 was Rs 40,549 crore against Rs 36,502 crore in FY25, and market capitalisation was about Rs 68,815 crore in late July 2026. V. Vaidyanathan is Managing Director and CEO, Sanjeeb Chaudhuri chairs the board as a non-executive independent director, and Sudhanshu Jain is Chief Financial Officer. LinkedIn lists 53,017 employees at the bank, and hiring is heaviest in branch banking, retail acquisition, wealth relationship management and vehicle and rural lending roles across India.
