RPO Services

Hyring runs full, partial, and project recruitment process outsourcing at roughly 30% below big-firm quotes, with every candidate AI-interviewed before your team sees them. Below is the arithmetic for when RPO beats placement fees, and when it does not.

Hyring provides recruitment process outsourcing for US employers, covering some or all of sourcing, screening, first-round interviews, interview coordination, offer support, and hiring reporting. Pricing runs roughly 30% below big-firm quotes, and every candidate completes an AI first-round interview before reaching your team.

Most RPO pages explain what RPO is and then ask you to book a call to discuss pricing. The more useful thing is the arithmetic, because RPO is not better or worse than paying placement fees, it is better or worse at a given hiring volume. Get that wrong and you either pay per-hire fees long past the point they made sense, or you commit to a program for a hiring plan that never materialises. The charts below show where the crossovers actually fall.

What RPO Actually Is

RPO means outsourcing part or all of your recruiting function, priced as a program rather than per hire, so cost stops scaling one-for-one with headcount.

The defining difference from agency placement is the pricing shape. A staffing agency charges a percentage each time you hire someone, so twenty hires cost twenty fees. An RPO provider charges for running the function, usually as a monthly program fee, a reduced per-hire component, or a blend, so the marginal cost of the eleventh hire is far below the first. That is the entire economic argument, and it only works above a certain volume.

The second difference is scope. Agency placement ends when a candidate accepts. RPO can include workforce planning, employer branding, interview coordination, offer management, onboarding handoff, and the reporting that tells you where your funnel leaks. You choose which stages to hand over.

The Arithmetic: When RPO Wins

Below eight hires a year, placement fees are cheapest. Between eight and twenty, RPO usually wins. Above twenty, an in-house recruiter plus agency support beats both.

Two caveats worth stating. These curves assume a $120,000 average salary and reasonably standard roles; a plan weighted toward $200,000 engineers shifts every crossover downward, because percentage fees inflate faster than program fees. And the in-house line excludes ramp time, since a recruiter hired in January is not productive in January, which is precisely the gap RPO is good at covering.

Full, Partial, and Project RPO

Three shapes cover most needs: end-to-end ownership, selected stages, or a defined hiring programme with a start and end date.

RPO engagement models

ModelWhat we ownBest whenTypical shape
Full RPOSourcing through offer across agreed roles, plus reportingYou have no internal talent function, or it is overwhelmedMonthly program fee
Partial RPOSelected stages, most often sourcing and screeningYour team is strong at closing but short on pipelineMonthly fee or per-stage
Project RPOA defined programme: facility ramp, new market, funding-round scale-upHiring spikes for two or three quarters then normalisesFixed project fee
Recruiter capacityEmbedded recruiters working inside your process and systemsYou want your process, just more hands running itMonthly per recruiter

Partial RPO is the most commonly correct answer and the least commonly sold, because vendors earn more from full programs. If your hiring managers close well and your problem is that nobody has time to source and screen, buying the whole function is overpaying for the half you already do competently.

How an Engagement Runs

Ownership is documented before recruiters start, then screening is instrumented per role family so quality holds across the programme.

The step most providers skip is the second one. Configuring screening per role family, coding interviews for engineers, scenario interviews for finance, communication assessment for client-facing work, is what stops a high-volume programme from degrading in month three. When every candidate is assessed to the same standard whether they applied in week one or week twelve, the hundredth hire is as good as the first, which is the entire promise of outsourcing recruitment and the part that usually fails.

Fact

90-day replacement commitment. If a placed hire leaves within 90 days, we replace them under the agreed terms. Ask any agency whether their guarantee provides a replacement or a refund, and over what period, because those are materially different commitments that get conflated in most contracts.

What Makes Ours Different

AI screening on every applicant, thousands of recruiting partners for sourcing reach, and a portal where you inspect the work rather than receive a summary of it.

Round one, already done

Every candidate completes an AI first round before you see them: video, coding, phone, or the English test.

Every applicant ranked

The AI Resume Screener scores the full funnel against your brief, so nothing strong gets buried under volume.

Thousands of recruiters

The Recruiting Partners network works each role nationally, paid on placements, every submission passing the same screen.

Panel rounds in Hyring Meet

Interviews are scheduled and held in Hyring Meet, so invites and recordings stay attached to the candidate record.

One portal, no chasing

Every candidate uploaded with recording and score, clear stages your whole team sees, feedback on the profile instead of an email thread.

Transparency after the hire

Augmented teams run on Insight by Hyring, employees seeing their own data first. SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified.

The commercial consequence of automating screening is why our RPO prices roughly 30% below big-firm quotes. Traditional RPO cost is mostly recruiter hours, and the largest single consumer of those hours is first-round screening. Automate that properly and the same programme costs materially less to run, which we pass through rather than pocket.

When RPO Is the Wrong Answer

RPO underperforms below roughly eight hires a year, for single senior searches, and where hiring volume is genuinely unpredictable.

FAQs

Hyring's RPO prices roughly 30% below typical big-firm quotes, structured as a monthly program fee, a reduced per-hire component, or a blend depending on scope. The reason we can price there is that AI handles first-round screening, which is the largest consumer of recruiter hours in a traditional RPO.
