Gland Pharma Limited is an injectable-focused pharmaceutical company set up in Hyderabad in 1978 by P.V.N. Raju. It makes small-molecule generic injectables across sterile injectables, oncology and ophthalmic segments, and sells into more than 60 countries including the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia and India. The business runs largely on a B2B and CDMO model, supplying and co-developing complex injectables for global pharmaceutical partners.

The company runs seven manufacturing sites in India: four for finished formulations and three for active pharmaceutical ingredients. These include the Dundigal formulations and R&D campus in Hyderabad, penems and MPSF units at Pashamylaram, an oncology plant in the Visakhapatnam SEZ, and an API plant at Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City, Visakhapatnam. Shanghai Fosun Pharma became the majority promoter, and Gland Pharma listed on the NSE and BSE in 2020.

FY26 was a record year. Consolidated revenue rose 14% to INR 64,307 Mn with an adjusted EBITDA margin of about 26%, and adjusted profit after tax climbed roughly 50%. CDMO work drove much of the growth, contributing 46% of Q4 revenue, and the European subsidiary Cenexi grew 25%. The company filed 24 ANDAs and secured 28 approvals in FY26, taking cumulative US ANDA filings to 388, and has committed INR 2,000 crore of capital expenditure over five years.

Gland Pharma Interview Questions & Answers

Q: Audit and compliance and Sterility Assurance

A: Walk through how you've handled regulatory audits end to end, then connect that to the sterility assurance controls you own day to day. Structure it as: what the requirement is, how you verify it, and what you do when a deviation shows up.

Answer by AI
  • Frame your audit experience by regulator and outcome: which inspections you faced, what your role was, and how observations were closed out.
  • Cover the sterility assurance chain you're accountable for, such as aseptic process simulation, environmental controls, sterilisation validation and container closure integrity.
  • Close with a deviation you investigated: the root cause method you used, the CAPA you put in place, and how you confirmed it held.

Q: Environment monitoring

A: Explain the monitoring programme you ran, covering viable and non-viable sampling, the grades you sampled, alert and action limits, and what happens when a limit is breached. Keep it concrete about frequency and documentation.

Answer by AI
  • Describe the sampling types you handled: settle plates, active air, surface swabs, contact plates and personnel monitoring, and which cleanroom grades each applied to.
  • State how alert and action limits get set and trended, and who reviews the trend data.
  • Give one excursion example: the investigation, the identification of the isolate, and the corrective action that followed.

Q: They did ask questions about pharmacy related and introduction about my self.

A: Open with a 60 second introduction that ties your qualification to the lab work you've done, then be ready for straightforward pharmacy fundamentals. Interviewers here start broad before going technical.

Answer by AI
  • Build a short introduction covering your qualification, the instruments and techniques you've worked on, and why injectables interest you.
  • Revise core pharmacy fundamentals: pharmacopoeial standards, dissolution and assay basics, stability testing and common analytical techniques such as HPLC and GC.
  • Have one specific lab example ready where your analysis caught an issue, and say what you did about it.

Q: Communication skills and work should done good

A: This one is really about whether you can run a shift and keep people aligned. Answer with a situation, the action you took to communicate across shifts or departments, and the result on output or compliance.

Answer by AI
  • Pick a shift handover or cross-department coordination example and describe the situation, your action and the measurable result.
  • Show how you communicate upward too: escalating a line stoppage or a deviation early rather than after the fact.
  • Mention how you brief operators on batch records and SOP changes so the work gets done right the first time.
