Icertis is an enterprise software company that builds AI-native contract lifecycle management and contract intelligence software. Its platform, powered by an AI layer called Vera, connects agreements with the data and systems around them so companies can draft, negotiate, track obligations and analyse contract terms in one place. The company says it works with customers in more than 90 countries, supports 40+ languages, and that more than a third of the Fortune 100 use its software.

The company was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, with its largest engineering and delivery base in Pune, India. Other offices include San Jose, Reston, London, Frankfurt and Zurich. Icertis employs more than 2,000 people, who it calls Icertians, and runs a hybrid model with most teams in the office two to three days a week. It's still privately held after raising roughly $520 million in total funding.

Icertis is going through a leadership change. On July 17, 2026 the board announced that CEO Anand Subbaraman would step down and move to an advisory role, with CFO Rajat Bahri and board member Jim Moffatt appointed interim co-CEOs while a search for a permanent CEO runs. The change follows a stretch of product expansion: Icertis bought contract AI startup Dioptra in November 2025, expanded a multi-year partnership with Microsoft in May 2026, and reported a record year of new business for 2025 with nine new Fortune-ranked customers.

Icertis Interview Questions & Answers

Q: What do you understand by OOPs concept? Explain each concept with code implementations.

A: Cover the four pillars: encapsulation, abstraction, inheritance and polymorphism, and back each one with a small class example rather than a definition alone. Interviewers here want to see you write the code, not recite the list.

Answer by AI
  • Encapsulation bundles data with the methods that act on it and hides internal state behind accessors; abstraction exposes only what a caller needs through an interface or abstract class.
  • Inheritance lets a subclass reuse and extend a base class, while polymorphism lets one interface take many forms through overriding at runtime and overloading at compile time.
  • Pair each pillar with a two or three line snippet, then say why it matters in practice, such as swapping a payment provider behind one interface without touching callers.

Q: Write a pseudo code for BST traversal and tell me about different BST traversals.

A: Write the recursive skeleton once and show how moving the visit statement changes it into preorder, inorder or postorder, then mention level order using a queue.

Answer by AI
  • Inorder visits left, node, right and yields sorted output for a BST, which is the property interviewers usually probe.
  • Preorder visits node first and suits copying or serializing a tree; postorder visits the node last and suits deleting or evaluating expression trees.
  • Level order is breadth-first with a queue rather than recursion, and it's worth noting all four run in O(n) time with O(h) or O(w) space.

Q: What is the difference between Array and Linked List, and which one is better?

A: Neither is better in the abstract. Answer by access pattern: arrays win on indexing and cache locality, linked lists win on cheap insertion and deletion once you hold the node.

Answer by AI
  • Arrays give O(1) random access and contiguous memory, so they're cache friendly, but insertion or deletion in the middle costs O(n) shifting.
  • Linked lists give O(1) insertion and deletion at a known node and grow without resizing, but access is O(n) and each node carries pointer overhead.
  • Close by naming a concrete choice, such as an array for a lookup table read constantly and a linked list for a queue with heavy churn at the ends.

Q: What is Indexing in DBMS? Why do we use Indexing and what are its different types?

A: An index is a separate structure that maps key values to row locations so the engine can skip a full table scan. Explain the read speed gain and the write cost tradeoff.

Answer by AI
  • Indexes turn a linear scan into a logarithmic lookup, usually with a B+ tree, at the cost of extra storage and slower inserts, updates and deletes.
  • Clustered indexes define the physical row order and there can be only one per table; non-clustered indexes hold key plus pointer and you can have many.
  • Mention dense versus sparse indexes, composite indexes where column order matters, and hash indexes for equality-only lookups.
