The Kraft Heinz Company is a US packaged food and beverage manufacturer formed in 2015 by the merger of Kraft Foods Group and H.J. Heinz, whose own roots go back to 1869. It trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker KHC and runs co-headquarters in Chicago, Illinois and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The company calls itself the third largest food and beverage company in North America and the fifth largest worldwide, with eight brands that each generate more than $1 billion in sales.
Its portfolio covers more than 200 brands sold in over 40 countries, including Heinz, Kraft, Oscar Mayer, Philadelphia, Kraft Mac & Cheese, Lunchables, Primal Kitchen, Jell-O, Maxwell House and Velveeta. Products reach shoppers through retail grocery and through foodservice channels such as restaurants and away-from-home operators. About 35,000 people work for the company globally.
Fiscal 2025 net sales came in at $24.9 billion, down 3.5 percent, and the company posted a net loss of $5.8 billion after $9.3 billion of impairment charges. Steve Cahillane took over as CEO on January 1, 2026 and quickly paused the planned separation of the business into two companies, committing an incremental $600 million to marketing, R&D, product development and pricing instead. In June 2026 the company reorganized into three regions: North America, Europe and Pacific Developed Markets, and Emerging Markets.
