A: For a sorted-then-rotated array you can use a modified binary search that first decides which half is ordered, then narrows toward the target. If the array isn't in a searchable rotated order, a simple linear scan returning the first matching index is the safe fallback.

A: A fail-fast iterator throws ConcurrentModificationException the moment the underlying collection changes during iteration, as with ArrayList or HashMap.
