Aviva plc is a British multinational insurance company headquartered at 80 Fenchurch Street in London. It provides insurance, retirement, wealth and general insurance products, with core operations across the United Kingdom, Ireland and Canada, plus market presence in India and China. The company was formed in 2000 (first as CGNU plc, renamed Aviva plc in 2002), though its insurance heritage traces back to 1696.
Aviva is listed on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker AV. and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 index. As of July 2026 its market capitalisation stands at about £20.2bn. Reported FY2025 revenue was roughly £25.4bn per Wikipedia, while stockanalysis lists total revenue of £28.68bn. The group employs in the region of 36,000 to 39,000 people.
