BAE Systems Interview Questions & Answers

Q: I had to give a presentation around the contract between BAE Systems and the military.

A: Treat the presentation as a real stakeholder briefing: open with the objective, walk through the key contract terms and compliance risks, then close with clear recommendations. Keep it structured, evidence-led, and time-boxed.

Answer by AI
  • Structure it as context, key obligations, risks, then recommendations so the panel can follow your logic.
  • Show you understand defence contracting basics: deliverables, milestones, safety and compliance duties, and reporting lines.
  • Rehearse a tight version and invite questions at the end to demonstrate confidence and command of the material.

Q: Standard questions to determine knowledge and understanding.

A: Expect competency questions about your administrative and coordination experience. Use short, specific examples that show you can manage priorities, support teams, and keep processes running smoothly.

Answer by AI
  • Prepare two or three STAR examples covering scheduling, stakeholder support, and handling competing deadlines.
  • Tie each answer back to reliability and attention to detail, which matter in a regulated defence environment.
  • Ask about the team you would support to show genuine interest in the role.

Q: What programming languages do you know, and what is your previous experience? (Austin, TX)

A: Name the languages you use most and give a concrete project for each: what you built, your role, and the outcome. Be honest about depth versus familiarity.

Answer by AI
  • Lead with the languages relevant to the role, then briefly cover secondary ones you can work in.
  • Pair each language with a shipped example so your experience feels real, not just a list.
  • Mention how you pick up new stacks, since defence projects often use specific or legacy tooling.

Q: Tell us about your previous relevant work experience and the length of your ERP knowledge.

A: Summarise your materials or inventory experience, then quantify your ERP exposure: which systems, how many years, and what transactions you handled day to day.

Answer by AI
  • State the ERP platforms you have used and how long, for example SAP or Oracle over a set number of years.
  • Give an example of a workflow you owned, such as goods receipting, stock counts, or shortages resolution.
  • Highlight accuracy and traceability, which are critical in a defence supply chain.
