The Boeing Company is a US aerospace and defense manufacturer founded on July 15, 1916 in Seattle and now headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. It trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BA and is a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500. Boeing employs about 182,000 people worldwide and operates through three divisions: Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Defense, Space & Security, and Boeing Global Services.
For fiscal year 2025 Boeing reported revenue of about US$89.5 billion, and its market capitalization stood near US$161 billion in mid-2026. The company is led by President and CEO Kelly Ortberg, with Steven M. Mollenkopf as Chair of the Board. Jesus 'Jay' Malave became executive vice president and CFO on August 15, 2025, succeeding Brian West, who moved to a senior advisor role.
Boeing has a large India presence led by Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India and South Asia, who is based in New Delhi. Boeing runs about 5,000 employees across sites in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi, including the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center in Bengaluru. The main registered India entity, Boeing India Private Limited, was incorporated on March 9, 2017 and is a subsidiary of the US parent.
