The company runs a chain of dollar stores that sell everyday items including groceries, cleaning supplies, health and beauty products, home goods, seasonal merchandise, and apparel, mostly to shoppers in rural and small-town markets across the contiguous United States. It operates roughly 20,000 stores and employs about 194,000 people.
