Ericsson Interview Questions & Answers

Q: Give a brief introduction about yourself.

A: Keep it to about a minute: your background, one or two projects you're proud of, and why telecom and Ericsson interest you. End on what you want to work on next.

Answer by AI
  • Open with your education and any relevant internships or projects in one line.
  • Highlight a project that used skills the role needs, such as networking, databases, or a programming language.
  • Close with a sentence on why Ericsson and 5G work motivate you.

Q: Write an SQL query to find the second largest salary of a person.

A: One clean approach is SELECT MAX(salary) FROM employees WHERE salary < (SELECT MAX(salary) FROM employees). You can also use DENSE_RANK or ORDER BY salary DESC with LIMIT 1 OFFSET 1.

Answer by AI
  • Subquery method: MAX of salary where salary is below the overall MAX.
  • Window method: DENSE_RANK() over salary descending, then pick rank 2 to handle ties.
  • Mention LIMIT 1 OFFSET 1 as a simple alternative and note how each handles duplicate salaries.

Q: Share your screen and run your projects, explain the features and the MongoDB database you used, plus OOPS concepts.

A: Walk through the live demo, then explain your data model in MongoDB (collections, documents, why NoSQL fit) and tie features back to the four OOP pillars: encapsulation, inheritance, abstraction, and polymorphism.

Answer by AI
  • Run the project first, then narrate the main user flow and the problem it solves.
  • Explain your MongoDB schema choices: collections, documents, indexing, and why you picked NoSQL.
  • Map your code to OOP concepts with concrete examples from your classes.

Q: Write the command for a database connection.

A: Show the connection pattern in your stack, for example a JDBC DriverManager.getConnection(url, user, password) call in Java, and explain the connection string parts and closing the connection.

Answer by AI
  • State the driver or library, then the connection string with host, port, and database name.
  • Give a concrete example in your language, such as JDBC in Java or a MongoClient URI.
  • Mention pooling and always closing the connection to avoid leaks.
