HP Inc. is the American personal computing and printing company created on November 1, 2015, when the original Hewlett-Packard, founded in 1939, split into two firms. HP Inc. kept the PC, printer, scanner, monitor and 3D printing businesses, while the enterprise server and services side became Hewlett Packard Enterprise. It trades on the NYSE as HPQ and is headquartered at Stanford Research Park in Palo Alto, California. Fiscal 2025 revenue was USD 55.29 billion with net income of USD 2.53 billion, and the company employs roughly 55,000 people worldwide.
The product line splits into Personal Systems, which covers consumer brands like Pavilion, Envy and Omen plus commercial brands like ProBook, EliteBook and Z workstations, and Printing. In fiscal Q2 2026 Personal Systems brought in USD 10.2 billion and Printing USD 4.2 billion of the USD 14.4 billion quarterly total. HP is pushing AI PCs hard: they reached 44% of shipments by mid-2026, and the company signed a strategic partnership with OpenAI in June 2026 to run its Frontier platform across customer support, sales and internal software development.
In India, HP operates through HP India Sales Private Limited, incorporated in Bengaluru on September 2, 1997 and formerly known as Compaq Computer (India) Private Limited. The entity reported FY2025 revenue of INR 24,762 crore, up about 11% year on year, with roughly 1,666 employees on its rolls. HP runs offices in Bengaluru, Gurugram, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata, and Ipsita Dasgupta leads the India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka business. In May 2026 HP India launched more than 20 new products, including the India-first HP OmniPad 12 and the HP EliteBoard G1a AI keyboard PC.

A: volatile tells the compiler that a variable can change outside the program's control, so it must reload the value from memory on every access instead of caching it in a register. In firmware you use it for memory-mapped hardware registers, variables shared with an interrupt service routine, and flags touched by another thread.

A: A vector holds a pointer to a contiguous heap buffer plus a size and a capacity. When you push past capacity it allocates a larger block, typically 1.5x or 2x, moves or copies the elements over, and frees the old block, which gives amortised constant-time appends.
Q: Construct a class in C++ such that you get an error when the object is created statically but not when created dynamically.
A: Make the destructor private. Stack objects need an accessible destructor at the point of declaration, so a static or automatic instance won't compile, while new still works because destruction is deferred. Expose a public destroy() member that calls delete this.
Q: Write a program to check for cycle detection in a linked list.
A: Use Floyd's tortoise and hare: advance one pointer by a single node and another by two. If they ever meet there's a cycle; if the fast pointer hits null, there isn't. It runs in O(n) time with O(1) extra space.

HP reports fiscal 2026 second quarter revenue of $14.4 billion

HP to cut 4,000 to 6,000 jobs by 2028 in an AI-led restructuring
