EY, short for Ernst & Young, is one of the Big Four professional services organisations. It isn't a single company but a global network of member firms coordinated by Ernst & Young Global Limited, a UK private company limited by guarantee based in London. The current form dates to the 1989 merger of Ernst & Whinney and Arthur Young, though the oldest predecessor practice goes back to 1849. Work sits in four service lines: Assurance, Consulting, Tax, and Strategy and Transactions, the last of which trades as EY-Parthenon.

For the fiscal year ended June 2025, EY reported combined global revenue of US$53.2 billion, up 4.0% in local currency. Assurance contributed US$17.9 billion, Consulting US$16.4 billion, Tax US$12.7 billion, and Strategy and Transactions US$6.2 billion. Headcount stood at 406,209 people across more than 150 countries and territories. EY said AI-related revenue grew 30% year on year, with over 15,000 professionals on AI-led projects, backed by a US$1.4 billion investment in AI.

India is one of EY's largest people bases, with over 120,000 employees across entities and 16 office locations. Two structures sit side by side: the India client-facing member firms led by Rajiv Memani, and EY Global Delivery Services, which runs delivery centres in Bengaluru, Gurugram, Kochi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Trivandrum for clients worldwide. In June 2026 EY GDS opened a 40,000 square foot ey.ai Center for Reimagination in Bengaluru, and in May 2026 EY India was the only professional services firm in the top 10 of LinkedIn Top Companies India.
