Genuine Parts Company is a US distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts, founded in 1928 and headquartered at 2999 Wildwood Parkway in Atlanta, Georgia. It trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker GPC and sits in the S&P 500. The company grew from a single Atlanta auto parts operation into a distribution group that now runs through three reporting segments: North America Automotive Parts Group, International Automotive Parts Group, and Industrial Parts Group.
The business reaches customers through more than 10,800 locations across 17 countries with roughly 65,000 employees. Its best known brand is NAPA Auto Parts on the automotive side, while Motion carries the industrial business, which was built up after the 1976 acquisition of Motion Industries and expanded again with Kaman Distribution Group in 2022. International automotive operations cover Canada, Mexico, Australasia and Europe, including Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and the United Kingdom.
Full year 2025 sales were $24.30 billion, up 3.5% from $23.49 billion in 2024, with adjusted diluted EPS of $7.37 and a 70th consecutive year of dividend increases. On February 17, 2026 the company said it will separate into two independent public companies, Global Automotive with over $15 billion in sales and Global Industrial with about $9 billion, targeted for completion in the first quarter of 2027. In July 2026 Bloomberg reported that O'Reilly Automotive had submitted a cash bid of about $10 billion for the automotive unit, so the final structure isn't settled.
