GSK plc is a British biopharma company headquartered at 79 New Oxford Street in London. It was formed on 27 December 2000 through the merger of Glaxo Wellcome and SmithKline Beecham, and it trades on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker GSK. The company reported turnover of £32.67 billion in 2025 and employs roughly 66,800 people. Its consumer healthcare business was demerged into Haleon in 2022, so GSK today focuses on prescription medicines and vaccines across specialty medicines, general medicines, HIV, oncology and immunology.
Leadership changed at the top recently. Luke Miels, who joined GSK in 2017 as Chief Commercial Officer, became Chief Executive Officer on 1 January 2026, succeeding Dame Emma Walmsley. Julie Brown has been Chief Financial Officer since May 2023, and Sir Jonathan Symonds CBE chairs the board. In Q1 2026 GSK posted sales of £7.6 billion, up 5% at constant exchange rates, with specialty medicines up 14%, and it reaffirmed full year guidance of 3% to 5% sales growth plus a 2031 outlook of more than £40 billion.
In India, GSK operates through the separately listed GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited, headquartered at GSK House in Worli, Mumbai. For the year ended 31 March 2026 the India business reported revenue of INR 3,790 crore, up 2%, and profit after tax of INR 1,012 crore, up 10%, with EBITDA margins of 34%. Growth came from brands such as Augmentin, Calpol and T-Bact, the Shingrix vaccine, and oncology products Jemperli and Zejula. GSK also runs a Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru serving global technology, data and medical functions.
