Kalyan Jewellers India Limited is one of India's largest organised jewellery retailers. T. S. Kalyanaraman started the business in Thrissur, Kerala in 1993 with a single showroom, building on a family textile trading business. The company designs, manufactures and sells gold, diamond and precious stone jewellery across traditional, bridal and contemporary categories, and runs house brands such as Muhurat, Mudhra, Nimah, Glo, Ziah, Anokhi, Apoorva, Antara, Hera and Rang.

The company follows a hyperlocal retail model with a scaled presence in India, the Middle East, the USA and the UK. As of June 30, 2026 it operated 524 showrooms: 354 Kalyan stores in India, 38 in the Middle East, two in the USA, one in the UK and 129 Candere outlets. Candere is its digital-first jewellery platform, which Kalyan fully acquired in May 2024 and which grew revenue about 112 percent year on year in the June 2026 quarter. Much of the recent India expansion runs through a capital-light FOCO (franchise owned, company operated) model, with 222 of the 342 Kalyan India showrooms at the end of FY26 under FOCO.

Kalyan Jewellers listed on the NSE and BSE after its 2021 IPO and is headquartered at Punkunnam, Thrissur. Consolidated FY26 revenue was Rs 35,743 crore with profit after tax of about Rs 1,350 crore, and the board recommended a final dividend of Rs 2.50 per share in May 2026. Management has guided to roughly 150 new showrooms in FY27, including 84 new FOCO Kalyan stores.

Kalyan Jewellers Interview Questions & Answers

Q: Tell me about yourself.

A: Give a 60 to 90 second summary that moves from your current role, to the retail or customer-facing results you're proud of, to why a jewellery showroom is the next step. Keep it work-focused and finish on why you're sitting in this interview.

Answer by AI
  • Open with your present role and how long you've done it, in one line.
  • Add two concrete results, such as targets hit, repeat customers built or a store process you improved.
  • Close by linking your strengths to showroom selling and to Kalyan's bridal and gold customer base.

Q: Why do you want this job?

A: Tie a specific part of the role to something you've already enjoyed doing, then name what draws you to this employer in particular. Avoid generic praise and don't lead with pay or location.

Answer by AI
  • Name the part of the job you actually want, such as high-value consultative selling rather than transactional retail.
  • Point to something real about the company, like its scale of 500-plus showrooms or its hyperlocal, trust-led approach.
  • End with what you'd bring in the first 90 days so the answer isn't only about what you get.

Q: Why should we hire you?

A: Pick the two or three requirements the interviewer has stressed and match each with proof from your own record. Treat it as a short closing argument, not a list of adjectives.

Answer by AI
  • Mirror the two or three needs the interviewer has already mentioned in the conversation.
  • Attach one piece of evidence to each need, with a number wherever you have one.
  • Finish with the gap you'd fill on the team, such as bridal-season readiness or handling walk-in footfall alone.

Q: What is your greatest strength?

A: Choose a strength the role genuinely uses, then prove it with one short story rather than describing it in the abstract. Patience with long buying decisions works well for jewellery retail.

Answer by AI
  • Pick one strength that the job description would actually reward, not your most impressive one overall.
  • Tell a 30-second story where that strength changed the outcome for a customer or a shift.
  • Say how the same strength would show up in this showroom, week to week.
