Activision Blizzard, Inc. is an American video game holding company headquartered in Santa Monica, California. It was formed on 9 July 2008 through the merger of Activision and Vivendi Games (parent of Blizzard Entertainment), and later expanded with the 2016 acquisition of mobile-games maker King. Its three principal studios are Activision, Blizzard Entertainment and King, and it is home to franchises including Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Diablo, StarCraft and Candy Crush Saga.
On 13 October 2023, Microsoft completed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard (announced January 2022 at about US$68.7 billion), and the company was delisted from the Nasdaq (ticker ATVI). It now operates as a division under Microsoft Gaming, led by Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer and sitting alongside Xbox Game Studios. Longtime President and CEO Bobby Kotick departed on 29 December 2023.
For fiscal year 2022 - its last full year as an independent public company - Activision Blizzard reported revenue of about US$7.53 billion. It employs roughly 17,000 people across its US and global studios. As a US-based company it has no material India office, so the salary and open-role data on this page reflect United States figures.
