American Airlines Group Inc. is a major US airline holding company headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, and listed on the Nasdaq under the ticker AAL. Through its main operating subsidiary American Airlines, Inc., it is the largest airline in the world by fleet size and a founding member of the oneworld alliance. The company traces its roots to an air mail carrier in the Midwestern United States in 1926 and celebrated its centennial in 2026.

American operates more than 6,000 daily flights to over 350 destinations in more than 60 countries and serves over 200 million customers a year. The company describes itself as employing about 130,000 aviation professionals. Regional flying is operated under the American Eagle brand through wholly owned subsidiaries Envoy Air, Piedmont Airlines and PSA Airlines, plus third-party regional carriers. American remains publicly traded and is one of the largest employers in the US airline industry. On a trailing twelve-month basis it reported revenue of about $55.99 billion, and it carried a market capitalization near $10.1 billion in mid-2026. Robert Isom serves as Chief Executive Officer and President, Devon May as Chief Financial Officer and Greg Smith as Chairman of the Board.
