It's headquartered in Oakland, California and runs a distributed workforce of about 10,205 employees. The company trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker XYZ, which it adopted in January 2025 after previously listing as SQ.
The company operates as one business built from several units, including Square for merchant point-of-sale and commerce tools, Cash App for consumer payments and banking, Afterpay for buy now pay later, TIDAL for music streaming, plus Bitkey and Proto for Bitcoin hardware and mining.
