BT Group plc is a UK telecommunications company headquartered at One Braham in London. It's the largest provider of fixed-line, broadband and mobile services in the UK, with origins tracing back to 1846 and the Electric Telegraph Company. The group was privatised in 1984 and operates British Telecommunications plc as a wholly owned subsidiary that runs most of its business operations. BT is listed on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker BT.A and is a constituent of the FTSE 100 index.
For the financial year to 31 March 2026, BT reported revenue of £19.7 billion (£19.6 billion adjusted), down around 3 to 4 per cent, with reported profit before tax up 8 per cent at £1.4 billion. BT ramps up cost cutting as FY26 earnings flatline
BT Group raised its cost-saving target to 3.7 billion pounds and extended its restructuring programme to March 2030, with the workforce down 7% to 108,000 as underlying revenue fell 4% to 19.65 billion pounds and earnings stayed flat at 8.23 billion pounds.
