Fidelity International is a privately owned global asset manager that traces back to 1969 and became independent of the US Fidelity Investments in 1980. It's registered in Pembroke, Bermuda, runs its main office from 25 Cannon Street in London, and operates across more than 25 locations. It isn't the same business as Fidelity Investments (FMR LLC) in the United States, and the two have been separate companies for more than four decades. The company stays private, with employees holding a large share and the Johnson family holding a minority stake of about 39.89%.
The firm manages money and runs investment platforms for institutions and individuals. Its LinkedIn profile describes serving more than 2.9 million customers globally, from central banks, sovereign wealth funds and insurers through to private investors, with total assets of $893.2 billion as of 31 December 2024. A Reuters report in May 2026 put group assets under management at about $1.06 trillion. The business is organised around Investment Solutions and Services plus Global Platform Solutions, which covers workplace pensions and personal investing. Leadership sits with Chairman Abigail Johnson and President Keith Metters, with Anne Richards as Vice Chairman.
India is the company's largest location outside the UK and, by its own account, its biggest capability hub. Operations started in Gurugram in 2001 and now span Gurugram, Bengaluru and Mumbai, with more than 4,500 people. Work done from India covers technology, customer operations, finance shared services and analytics, investment research, investment fund analysis, digital, and general counsel. The Indian operating entity, FIL India Business and Research Services Private Limited, reported revenue of about Rs 2,024 crore in FY25.
