Infineon closes EUR 570 million ams OSRAM sensor portfolio deal

Infineon completed the purchase of ams OSRAM's non-optical analog and mixed-signal sensor portfolio for EUR 570 million, about 653 million dollars. Infineon picks an asset light route into India's chip ecosystem

Rather than building a greenfield fab, Infineon is tapping existing Indian capacity and partners, including advanced talks around the Tata PSMC fab in Dholera and CG Power's OSAT facility in Sanand for assembly and test. It also raised annual capex to EUR 2.7 billion and signed an MoU with NIELIT to train engineers in assembly and testing.

CEO and CFO contracts extended early to 2032

Infineon said it would extend Jochen Hanebeck's CEO contract to 31 March 2032 and Sven Schneider's CFO contract to 30 April 2032, both well ahead of their 2027 expiry. Supervisory Board Chairman Herbert Diess framed the move as setting long term direction early.

Infineon unveils SILANE, a 630,000 sq ft Bengaluru campus

The new campus at Bagmane Solarium Tech Park pulls Infineon's two existing Bengaluru sites together and includes 170,000 sq ft of high-tech labs. It's sized for up to 4,500 employees by 2030 against an India headcount of more than 2,500, is LEED Gold and WELL certified on 100 percent green energy, and starts full operations in autumn 2026.
