Airwallex is a cross-border payments and financial infrastructure company founded in Melbourne, Australia in 2015 by Jack Zhang, Lucy Liu, Jacob (Xijing) Dai, Max Li and Ki-lok Wong. It runs a dual-headquarters model split between Singapore and San Francisco, adopted in 2025, and operates 27 offices around the world. The company stays privately held.
The platform offers global business accounts, cross-border transfers, corporate cards and embedded financial services. As of March 2026 it reported $1.3 billion in annualized revenue, up 74% year over year, alongside $287 billion in annualized transaction volume. It serves more than 676,000 businesses directly or through platform customers and employs over 2,300 people.
In June 2026 Airwallex raised $320 million in a Series H round led by Addition, lifting its valuation to $11 billion from $8 billion in December 2025. In India it operates through Airwallex Services India Private Limited (CIN U74999KA2020FTC134128), incorporated on 14 May 2020 and registered in Bengaluru as a subsidiary of Airwallex (Cayman) Limited. Jack Zhang serves as co-founder and CEO, with Pranav Sood appointed CFO in June 2026.
