The company was co-founded by Akash Sinha and Reeju Datta and was incubated by PayPal. It operates as an RBI-authorised payment aggregator and prepaid payment instrument provider.
The company builds payment collection and payout infrastructure for businesses. It says it serves more than 800,000 businesses, processes roughly $80 billion in annual transaction value, and reaches around 600 million bank accounts. Cashfree bets on cross-border push with travel and investment payments
SBI-backed Cashfree said it will run pilots this year for overseas investment, travel, and B2B payment services, moving beyond e-commerce. It expects cross-border to reach 25% of revenue within three to four years, up from about 10% now.
