Freshworks Inc. builds cloud service software for IT teams, customer support teams and employee experience teams. It started in Chennai in 2010 as Freshdesk, founded by Girish Mathrubootham and Shan Krishnasamy, renamed itself Freshworks in 2017 and moved its legal headquarters to San Mateo, California. It listed on Nasdaq under FRSH in September 2021. The main products are Freshservice for IT service management, Freshdesk for customer support, Freshsales for CRM and the Freddy AI layer that runs across them.
The India business runs through Freshworks Technologies Private Limited, incorporated in Chennai on 16 December 2010 and registered at Global Infocity Park, Perungudi. That entity reported a workforce of roughly 4,285 people in FY2025, which makes India by far the company's largest employment base. Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad all carry engineering, product, sales and marketing teams, and Chennai currently has the most open roles of any Freshworks location worldwide.
Group revenue was $838.81 million in FY2025, up 16.4% year on year, and the company posted net income of $183.72 million. Q1 2026 revenue came in at $228.6 million, up 16%. Alongside those results the company announced a restructuring that cut about 500 jobs, roughly 11% of headcount, saying it wanted to simplify the organisation and use more AI and automation internally. Market cap was about $2.78 billion in late July 2026, and over 74,000 businesses across 120 plus countries use its products.
