Greggs Interview Questions & Answers

Q: What is honesty / respect and why are these important?

A: Define both in plain terms, then tie them to shop work: honesty means accurate tills, waste and stock counts, and respect means treating customers and colleagues the same way on a quiet morning and a chaotic lunch rush.

Answer by AI
  • Give a one-line definition of each word before you say anything about Greggs.
  • Link honesty to money and stock handling, where trust is checked every shift.
  • Link respect to teamwork and customer service under time pressure.

Q: Why Greggs?

A: Point to something specific you know about the business, such as the scale of the shop estate or the profit share for colleagues, and connect it to what you want from the job.

Answer by AI
  • Name one concrete thing about Greggs, not a generic compliment about the brand.
  • Say what you want from the role: pace, customer contact, progression into shift management.
  • Close by matching your availability and location to what the shop needs.

Q: Tell me a time you delivered customer service.

A: Use a short situation, task, action, result structure and pick a story where you personally did the fixing rather than watching someone else fix it.

Answer by AI
  • Set the scene in one sentence: where you were and what went wrong.
  • Spend most of the answer on what you actually did and said.
  • Finish with the outcome and what you'd repeat next time.

Q: Tell me a time you made someone feel welcome.

A: Choose a moment where a small deliberate action changed how someone felt, such as greeting a nervous new starter or helping a customer who was struggling to decide.

Answer by AI
  • Pick a real example, a new colleague or an unsure customer works well.
  • Describe the specific thing you did, not just that you were friendly.
  • Say how you knew it worked: what they said or did afterwards.
