Humana Inc. is a US managed healthcare and health insurance company headquartered at 500 W Main St in Louisville, Kentucky. It was founded in 1961 as a nursing home business, became known as Extendicare Inc. in 1968, and took the Humana name in 1974. The company trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker HUM and sits in the S&P 500. Wikipedia describes it as the fourth largest health insurance provider in the United States.

Humana reports Q1 2026 results and affirms adjusted 2026 guidance
Humana posted first quarter 2026 GAAP EPS of 9.83 and adjusted EPS of 10.31, and affirmed full year adjusted EPS guidance of at least 9.00 while trimming GAAP guidance to at least 8.36. CenterWell Senior Primary Care added 110,500 patients sequentially, about 59,000 of them from the MaxHealth deal.

Only 20 percent of Humana's Medicare Advantage members will sit in plans rated 4 stars or above for 2026, down from 25 percent for 2025, though the average rating held at 3.61. The company said it expects to lose meaningful bonus revenue as a result.
