ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited is an Indian life insurer incorporated on 20 July 2000 and headquartered at ICICI PruLife Towers in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. It started as a joint venture between ICICI Bank and Prudential plc's Prudential Corporation Holdings, and it was the first Indian insurance company to list on the domestic stock exchanges, in 2016. The shares trade as ICICIPRULI on the NSE and 540133 on the BSE.

The company sells life, pension and health insurance: term plans, unit-linked plans, endowment and whole life policies, annuities and retirement products. Distribution runs through individual agents, corporate agents, bank partners, brokers and direct online channels, and bank tie-ups such as ICICI Bank, AU Bank and IDFC shape how the sales organisation is structured. Assets under management reached ₹3.34 lakh crore at 30 June 2026.

For FY2026 the insurer reported profit after tax of ₹1,607 crore and consolidated revenue of ₹63,357 crore, and it declared a final dividend of ₹1.65 per share. In 2026 the ownership structure started changing: Prudential plc agreed to buy 75% of Bharti Life, which forces it to cut its ICICI Prudential Life stake below 10%, and the board approved renaming the company ICICI Life Insurance Limited subject to IRDAI and other approvals.

ICICI Prudential Interview Questions & Answers

Q: How would you recruit advisors?

A: Describe a repeatable sourcing routine rather than a one-off effort: build a named list from your own network and referrals, qualify people on time availability and local reach, then run a short structured conversation about earnings and licensing.

Answer by AI
  • Name your sourcing channels: personal referrals, existing policyholders, local business owners, and returning candidates from earlier batches.
  • Explain how you qualify: local network, willingness to sell, ability to clear the IRDAI licensing requirement, and time they can commit each week.
  • Close on retention, because recruiting only counts if the advisor writes business, so cover onboarding, joint field calls and the first-90-days activity plan.

Q: Tell us about yourself.

A: Give a 60 to 90 second arc: where you are now, what you have sold or managed, one number that proves it, and why an agency channel role at a life insurer is the logical next step.

Answer by AI
  • Open with your current role and scope in one sentence, no life story.
  • Give one concrete proof point you can defend, such as team size handled or a target you hit.
  • End by connecting your experience to this role so the interviewer doesn't have to make the link for you.

Q: Are you mobile and comfortable in a sales-driven role?

A: Answer honestly and specifically. State the travel and relocation you can genuinely accept, then show you understand that service roles here still carry sales and retention targets.

Answer by AI
  • Say clearly what mobility you can commit to: daily travel radius, out-of-city trips, relocation willingness.
  • Give evidence from a previous role where you handled field travel or a shifting territory.
  • Acknowledge the target-linked part of the job so you don't sound surprised by it later.

Q: Sell this pen to me.

A: Don't pitch features. Ask two or three questions about how the interviewer currently signs documents and what annoys them, then position the pen against that specific need and ask for the close.

Answer by AI
  • Question first: how often do you write, what do you use now, what goes wrong with it.
  • Mirror the stated problem back and match one product attribute to it, not a list of five.
  • Ask for the decision explicitly, then handle the first objection calmly instead of restarting the pitch.
