Capita plc is a British business process outsourcing and professional services company founded in 1984 and headquartered in London. It trades on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker CPI and has long been one of the largest BPO providers in the United Kingdom.
The group runs outsourced services across public and private sectors, including customer management, technology solutions, and back office administration. For the 2025 financial year it reported revenue of about £2.31 billion, down from £2.42 billion the year before, and employed around 34,000 people. Its market capitalisation stood near £288 million in July 2026.
Capita operates in India through Capita India Private Limited, incorporated in December 2006 with its registered office in Vikhroli, Mumbai, and delivery operations in Mumbai and Pune. The Indian subsidiary reported revenue of about ₹332 crore for FY2025.

Capita revenue up 2.9% with more than 750 million pounds of contract wins
In its trading update for the four months to 30 April 2026, Capita said adjusted group revenue rose 2.9% year on year, with contract wins topping 750 million pounds, up 20%. Public Service grew 5.8% and Pension Solutions surged 23.4%, and shares rose more than 4%.

Capita becomes first European BPO to launch on AWS Marketplace

Capita sells private sector contact centre arm to Inspirit Capital
Capita agreed to offload its private sector contact centre business to Inspirit Capital for a nominal 1 pound, retaining 6.5 million pounds of cash in the unit and eligible for up to 61.5 million pounds of contingent payments in 2027 and 2028. Capita warns of narrower 2026 margin as it swings to a full-year loss
Capita reported a 2025 pretax loss of 170.9 million pounds on revenue down 4.5% to 2.31 billion pounds, though adjusted pretax profit rose 84% to 74.5 million pounds on 250 million pounds of annualised cost savings. Management flagged a small decrease in adjusted operating margin for 2026, and shares fell about 14%.
