Genpact Interview Questions & Answers

Q: Walk me through your resume.

A: Give a two minute narrative, not a line-by-line read. Move from where you started, to what you own now, to why Genpact is the logical next step.

Answer by AI
  • Open with one sentence on your background and current role, then spend most of the time on your two most relevant experiences.
  • For each one, say what the process was, what you changed, and the measurable result.
  • Close by tying your process or analytics experience to the role you're interviewing for.

Q: What draws you to Genpact?

A: Anchor the answer in specifics about the company rather than generic praise. Genpact runs finance, supply chain and HR operations for global clients and is shifting toward AI-led delivery.

Answer by AI
  • Name a concrete part of the business you want to work in, such as finance and accounting operations or data and analytics.
  • Reference the company's move into agentic and advanced technology work as a reason you see growth here.
  • Link it back to your own skills so it reads as fit, not flattery.

Q: Implement a stack using an array.

A: Keep a fixed array plus a top index starting at minus one. Push increments top then writes, pop reads then decrements, and both check for overflow and underflow.

Answer by AI
  • State the data members first: the array, its capacity, and the top pointer.
  • Write push, pop, peek and isEmpty, and guard every one against boundary conditions.
  • Mention that all operations are O(1) and note that a linked list version avoids the fixed capacity limit.

Q: Find the first non-repeating element in an array.

A: Do two passes. Build a frequency map on the first pass, then scan the array again in order and return the first element whose count is one.

Answer by AI
  • Explain the naive nested-loop approach at O(n squared) first, then improve it.
  • Use a hash map for counts to get O(n) time and O(n) space.
  • Say what you return when every element repeats, usually a sentinel like minus one.
