EXL is a data and artificial intelligence company that runs analytics, AI engineering and digital operations for large enterprises. Vikram Talwar and Rohit Kapoor founded it in April 1999, it listed on Nasdaq in 2006, and it's headquartered at 320 Park Avenue in New York. The company works across insurance, healthcare and life sciences, banking and capital markets, retail and consumer products, energy and infrastructure, communications and media, and business and technology services. Its own site describes a team of 60,000+ professionals across six continents and more than 50 global delivery centers, including roughly 1,500 data scientists.
India is where the bulk of EXL's delivery sits. The Indian operating entity is EXL Service.com (India) Private Limited, incorporated on 21 May 1999 with CIN U72200DL1999PTC099888 and a registered office in New Delhi. Delivery and analytics centers run out of Noida, Gurugram, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai and Kochi, and hiring volume on LinkedIn is heaviest in Noida. In June 2026 EXL expanded its Chennai office by 265 seats to roughly 550 in total, aimed at healthcare and payment integrity work built on AI, advanced analytics and data science.
Financially, EXL reported revenue of about $2.09 billion for fiscal 2025, up roughly 13.6% year over year, with a market capitalisation around $4.1 billion. Rohit Kapoor is co-founder, chairman and CEO, and Maurizio Nicolelli is executive vice president and CFO. The company keeps buying its way deeper into AI: in June 2026 it agreed to acquire iMerit, an AI model training and evaluation firm, for up to $310 million. Leadership has been reshaped too, with Bhupender Singh joining in May 2026 as president and head of international growth markets and Bina Mehta added to the board in July 2026.
