Teramind Pricing
Teramind is security software that also tracks time. The pricing question matters less than a prior one: which department asked for this, because that determines whether it is the right purchase at all.

Starter
Activity and productivity
UAM
Session replay and OCR
DLP
Content rules and compliance
Deployment
Cloud or on-premise
Direct answer
Teramind prices per user per month across Starter, UAM, and DLP tiers, typically from around $12 to $30 depending on tier, deployment model, and commitment.
It is security software that includes employee monitoring, with keystroke logging, session recording, and data loss prevention as core capabilities. That makes it the right product for insider risk and compliance mandates, and the wrong one for understanding why a team is behind schedule.
| Starter | Activity monitoring, basic productivity |
|---|---|
| UAM | Session recording, OCR, deeper user activity |
| DLP | Content rules, data loss prevention, compliance |
| Core capability | Forensic capture including keystrokes |
| Right for | Insider threat, regulated industries, audit |
| Insight by Hyring | $7 per user, no keystroke capture, ever |
Which Department Asked
The single question that determines whether Teramind is the right purchase.
Two different mandates, two different products
Security asked
Insider risk, data exfiltration, regulatory audit trail
Needs
Keystroke capture, DLP, session replay, forensic evidence
Operations asked
Why is delivery slow? Who is overloaded? Where did the time go?
Needs
Capacity signals, patterns, answers a manager can act on
Buying the top-row product to answer a bottom-row question is the most common and most damaging mistake in this category. It arrives with forensic capability nobody needed, a rollout the team experiences as an accusation, and a data pile that still does not tell you why the sprint slipped.
If a security or compliance function asked for this, with a real mandate behind it, Teramind is a serious and capable product and the depth it offers is the reason to buy it. Regulated industries, insider threat programmes, and organisations handling material non-public information need forensic capability, and lighter tools genuinely cannot substitute.
If an operations leader asked because delivery is slow or a team seems stretched, this is the wrong instrument. You will acquire keystroke logging you did not need, a rollout your team experiences as an accusation, and a volume of forensic data that still does not answer why the sprint slipped. The capability is not the problem. The mismatch between the capability and the question is.
The Tier Structure
Three tiers gated on security depth rather than workforce features.
Teramind tiers
| Tier | What it adds | Typical buyer |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | Activity monitoring, basic productivity reporting | Evaluating, or lighter oversight need |
| UAM | Session recording, OCR of screen content, deeper capture | Insider threat programmes |
| DLP | Content-based rules, data loss prevention, compliance reporting | Regulated industries, audit mandates |
Deployment model matters as much as tier here. On-premise options exist alongside cloud, which is often a requirement in the environments where this product genuinely belongs, and it affects total cost considerably.
How Deep Capture Goes
A spectrum from timekeeping to forensics, and where each product deliberately stops.
Depth of capture, and what each layer implies
The spectrum from timekeeping to forensics
- Hours only
- Activity levels
- Applications and URLs
- Screenshots
- Video session replay
- Keystroke content and DLP
Insight by Hyring stops deliberately at the third band and makes screenshots optional. Teramind operates at the far end, which is appropriate for security work and rarely appropriate for understanding a team's workload.
Every band on that chart is legitimate for some purpose. The question is which purpose you have. Insight by Hyring stops at applications and URLs and makes screenshots optional, because everything beyond that answers security questions rather than capacity questions, and carries a cost in trust that operational teams cannot afford to pay.
Insight by Hyring never captures keystroke content, at any tier, under any configuration. This is a permanent product decision rather than a feature we have not built yet. Keystroke capture records passwords, private messages, and medical searches typed into a work machine, and very few organisations outside a genuine security mandate can justify holding that.
When Teramind Is Right
Three situations where it is the correct purchase and we would say so.
- A regulated industry with audit obligations. Financial services, healthcare, and defence contexts frequently require capture depth that workforce tools do not provide.
- An active insider threat programme. If your security function is managing exfiltration risk with a defined population and legal sign-off, forensic capability is the requirement.
- Investigation of a specific incident. Session replay and content rules exist for exactly this, and no lighter product substitutes.
In all three the buyer is security, the population is defined, and the legal basis is documented. Those conditions are what make the capture proportionate.

Desktop companion
A floating avatar that reads the day and speaks to the employee before any manager sees it. Offers a sprint, checks in on suspicious perfection, celebrates a good run.
Shared focus music rooms
Teams listen in sync across curated channels, with room presence showing who is deep in work. No competitor in this category has built this.
Wellbeing reminders
Water, stretch, the 20-20-20 eye rule, end-of-day wind-down, and custom prompts, with notifications muted during focus sessions.
Insight by Hyring is the only product here connected to a hiring platform, so work data flows into people decisions and into the next hire. No standalone tracker can close that loop.
