Direct answer

Time Doctor prices per user per month across three tiers, Basic, Standard, and Premium, typically from around $7 to $20 depending on tier and billing period.

Screenshots sit in Standard rather than Basic, and video screen capture in Premium, so the tier you need depends on how much visual evidence you require. Insight by Hyring Pro is $7 per user per month with screenshots and everything else included.

The Tier Structure

Three tiers gated on how much visual evidence you collect.

Basic

Time tracking, tasks and projects, activity tracking

Standard

Premium

Video screen capture, client login, executive dashboards

Screenshots sit in Standard rather than Basic, and video capture sits in Premium, so the tier you need depends entirely on how much visual evidence you have decided you require.

The step that catches teams out is Basic to Standard. Basic looks like a complete product until you realise application and URL tracking, screenshots, and payroll integrations all sit above it. Most companies evaluating Time Doctor for monitoring rather than timekeeping end up on Standard, so price the comparison there rather than at the headline rate.

What Time Doctor Is Genuinely Good At

Client-facing evidence, better than almost anything else in the category.

If you run an agency, an outsourcing operation, or any arrangement where you invoice a client for hours and that client wants proof, Time Doctor is built precisely for you. Client login access lets the paying party inspect the evidence directly, which resolves billing disputes before they start. Screenshots, activity levels, and detailed reporting all point at the same purpose: demonstrating to a third party that the work happened.

That is a real and specific job, and no product we make competes with it. Insight by Hyring has no client login and does not generate the kind of evidence package an external client expects.

The Interruption Problem

The product's defining feature is also its most expensive one, and it is not on any pricing page.

What an 'are you still working?' prompt costs

The mechanism behind interruption-based verification

Deep work begins

Attention settles. This takes roughly 20 minutes

Prompt fires

Idle detected. Are you still working?

Attention breaks

The state you were verifying has now been destroyed

Cycle repeats

Every idle window costs another re-entry

This is the paradox at the centre of prompt-based tracking. Thinking looks identical to idleness from a keyboard's point of view, so the person doing the most valuable work triggers the most interruptions, and each interruption undoes the state it was checking on.

Time Doctor can detect idle time and prompt the user to confirm they are still working. As enforcement it works. As a design decision it carries a cost that nobody quantifies, because a keyboard cannot distinguish thinking from idleness.

Consider who triggers it most. Not the person browsing social media, who generates plenty of input. The engineer reading a design document, the lawyer working through a contract, the strategist staring at a whiteboard. The people doing the most cognitively demanding work produce the least keyboard activity, so they receive the most prompts, and each prompt destroys the concentration it was verifying. Deep work takes roughly twenty minutes to re-enter, so the cost of a single interruption is considerably larger than the interruption.

Insight by Hyring makes the opposite choice deliberately. The companion avatar does speak up, but it offers rather than checks: a fifteen-minute focus sprint after a genuine drift, a water or stretch reminder, a nudge back to an open task. During a focus session it mutes notifications entirely rather than adding one. The product is designed to protect attention rather than to audit it, which is a different theory of what a workforce tool is for.

Head to Head

Same entry price, opposite philosophies.

Desktop companion

A floating avatar that reads the day and speaks to the employee before any manager sees it. Offers a sprint, checks in on suspicious perfection, celebrates a good run.

Shared focus music rooms

Teams listen in sync across curated channels, with room presence showing who is deep in work. No competitor in this category has built this.

Wellbeing reminders

Water, stretch, the 20-20-20 eye rule, end-of-day wind-down, and custom prompts, with notifications muted during focus sessions.

Insight by Hyring is the only product here connected to a hiring platform, so work data flows into people decisions and into the next hire. No standalone tracker can close that loop.

Pricing

Pro at $7 per user per month, Enterprise at $14, frozen for the life of the subscription.
