That depends on the company you interviewed with. They decide when and how to tell you the outcome - some will come back within the same day if you are not moving forward, others take longer because they are still interviewing other candidates for the role and would like an overview before they convey their decision.
What we can tell you is that the write-up is not what you are waiting on. With Hyring Meet, the AI report and the interviewer's scorecard are ready once the call ends, so decisions based on those aren't kept waiting. The results of the interview are also immediately made available to the hiring team of the company - synced into their applicant tracking system, with alerts by email, WhatsApp or Slack. Usually a delay means the team is still interviewing others, or the decision itself is sitting with someone, not that your interview hasn't been summarised and assessed.
The most useful thing you can do is to confirm at the end of your interview, before you sign off, ask two questions:
What is the next step in the process?
When should I expect to hear either way?
Write the answer down if you must. If that date when you are expected to hear from them passes with no word, a short, polite follow-up with your recruiter is entirely expected and valid.
While you wait, keep your other processes moving. A week of silence on a role that feels urgent usually means the team is still speaking to other candidates, unless there is a very definitive indication otherwise.
And if you are interviewing with several companies at once, tell your recruiter where you stand in those other processes. A real competing deadline is the single most effective way to get a decision brought forward.
