When you complete an interview on Hyring, whether it's a live session run through Hyring Meet or an AI-led interview, the platform records the video and audio and generates a full transcript alongside it. That recording becomes part of your interview report: the employer can replay it, read the transcript, and review it next to the AI-generated notes, scores, and summary. This is what lets the hiring team evaluate you fairly against a consistent structure, rather than relying on whoever remembers the conversation best.
Your recording is shared only with the employer you interviewed with. Hyring does not sell or share it with third parties, and it's collected with your consent and used solely for recruitment evaluation purposes. It's stored securely on Hyring's cloud infrastructure (AWS), with encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security monitoring. Hyring states it follows SOC 2 and ISO 27001 practices and is working toward full GDPR compliance, so your data is handled under recognized security and privacy standards.
On retention, how long your recording is kept depends on the employer's plan and settings, since employers control their own hiring data. That said, you're not without control: you can request deletion of your recording and associated data at any time by emailing hello@hyring.com, and Hyring will process a verified deletion request promptly. Your data is also deleted automatically if the relevant employer account is terminated.
One more thing worth knowing: Hyring may use anonymized, de-identified data (with all personal information stripped out) to improve its AI models for things like voice and text analysis. Your personal recording itself is never used for AI training unless it's been fully de-identified first, so nothing identifiable about you feeds back into the system.
If you'd like specifics on how long a particular employer retains interview recordings, or you want to confirm your regional data rights (for example under GDPR or India's IT Act), it's worth checking with the employer directly, since retention and consent details can vary by role and region. For anything related to deleting your own data, reach out to hello@hyring.com and Hyring's team will take it from there.
